You will partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to execute optical testing and support laser system production. Daily responsibilities include : / pulliExecuting optical test procedures using power meters, beam profilers, spectrometers, and interferometers / liliInspecting incoming materials, equipment, and optical / laser products to ensure quality specifications are met / liliPerforming laser beam quality measurements, power output testing, and wavelength characterization / liliSetting up optical test benches and performing precision optical alignment using autocollimators and alignment telescopes / liliInvestigating / troubleshooting product and production issues and taking corrective action / liliDocumenting optical performance data and maintaining accurate records of measurements, alignments, and system configurations / liliImplementing standards / specifications / processes cross-functionally with Quality Teams / li / ulpRequired qualifications : / pulliAssociate degree in Photonics Technology, Optical Engineering Technology, or related technical field / lili4+ years of hands-on experience in optics, laser systems, or photonics manufacturing / liliExperience with calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) / liliProficiency with optical test equipment (power meters, beam profilers, spectrometers, interferometers) / liliExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical circuit diagrams, specifications, and assembly procedures / liliGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) knowledge, understanding dimension and tolerancing / liliExperience with inspection of machined parts and mechanical assemblies / liliKnowledge of laser safety protocols and optical component handling / liliExperience in a facility with AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS standard / liliU.S. Person Status is required as this position needs to access controlled data / li / ulpPreferred qualifications : / pulliTechnical or Associates degree in related quality / mechanical / aerospace engineering field / lili4+ years experience in a quality assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing / production setting / liliMilitary optical / laser training or equivalent technical certification / liliExperience in defense, aerospace, or laser system environments / liliExperience with modulation transfer functional measurements and test station setup, validation, and maintenance / liliIPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 Certification / liliKnowledge of First Article Inspection requirements and processes / liliExperience creating optical test procedures and assembly work instructions / liliHighly motivated team player who is willing to support a fast paced team environment / li / ulpTravel : / pulli25% travel required to out of state locations / li / ulpPhysical demands and working conditions : / pulliAbility to lift up to 35 pounds / liliWork in clean room environments / liliUse of precision optical tools and equipment / liliVisual acuity and color discrimination required for inspection / liliAdherence to laser safety and contamination control protocols / li / ulpUS Hourly Range $25 - $33 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
