Kiewit Nuclear Solutions - Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Lead - Lenexa, KS & Oak Ridge, TN

We are seeking experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineers to join our team at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions. This role involves designing, reviewing, and coordinating electrical engineering systems for nuclear and industrial projects. The position offers an opportunity to work in a stable, innovative environment with a focus on safety, cost-efficiency, and excellence. Locations available in Lenexa, KS, and Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations including power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, protective relay settings, and arc-flash.
Develop equipment procurement specifications and participate in bid evaluations.
Create scoping documents for conceptual designs and conduct constructability reviews.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and clients, including site visits and design reviews.
Design and review lighting, communication, and security systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

10-15+ years of experience in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear projects.

Experience with equipment selection, engineering design packages, and calculations.

Knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution systems.

Effective communication skills and detail-oriented approach.

PE license or ability to obtain one.

Additional Requirements

Effective communication and professional interaction.

Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Work at various locations and conditions.
