Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ability to run all machine shop equipment, such as mills, lathes, surface grinding equipment.
- Analyze specifications / prints, set up & machine details to specifications.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and clearance of finished components using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, etc.
- Capable of visualizing finished product, and communicating design errors or issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of details to meet project deadlines.
- Operates power press to test completed dies
Manual Machinist Skills and Requirements :
- 2-5 years experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication facilities
- Minimum of three years manual machinist.
- Strong background in math and ability to understand fraction / decimal conversions
- Ability to take direction from experienced co-workers and management
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
- Strong time management skills.
- High School Diploma
- Extensive equipment and parts knowledge
