Must-Have :

Comfort with Preop, Recovery, and Discharge of patients.

Critical Care experience and competencies with ICU cases including hemodynamic drips and ventilated patients.

Description :

This position involves providing nursing care in a Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit.

The unit consists of 24 Pre-Op / Phase 2 beds and 19 PACU beds.

Patient populations include infants to geriatric patients.

Candidates must be comfortable recovering patients in various conditions, including boarded patients when census is full.

Patient ratios in Pre-Op are typically 1 : 2-3, while in PACU it is 1 : 1 or 1 : 2.

Critical thinking and nursing skills are essential.

Nursing staff will perform their own lab draws and are trained in IV insertion.

There is a resource team available for assistance, including a respiratory therapy team when needed.

The nurse will prepare and discharge patients in Endoscopy but will not work intra-operatively.

Scheduling will involve three shifts per week, with a weekend call rotation every three weeks.

Holiday calls will be rotated among staff, and working two holidays per year is expected.

Time-off requests will be reviewed and must be submitted to management.
