Senior Accountant
Contribute to the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including the accurate preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end accruals. Assist the Controller in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership, delivering clear and actionable insights into business performance, trends, and variances to support strategic decision-making. Support transformation changes within the accounting function by identifying and implementing process improvements and automation initiatives. Develop and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures under the guidance of the Controller. Take ownership of accounting for designated balance sheet accounts, ensuring all activity is appropriate, fully supported, and accurately reflected within the ERP system. Provide support for external audit activities, preparing and delivering comprehensive documentation to facilitate the US GAAP audit. Cultivate strong relationships with business partners, offering accounting and business support, including the preparation of financial analyses and reports. Strict compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies. Proactively monitor and analyze workflow to identify opportunities for more efficient procedures and optimal resource utilization, while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from senior finance team members regarding financial results and special reporting requests. Provide comprehensive support to the Controller with various ad-hoc requests and special projects. Lead cost accounting activities including inventory valuation, standard cost updates, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold reporting to support manufacturing operations. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve financial visibility across manufacturing processes.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is preferred. Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP and financial statements. Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment and cost accounting responsibilities. Strong proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Ross, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
