In this role you will utilize key account management skills calling on the MRO sustainment command for the United States Air Force and Army. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

The Impact You'll Make In This Role

As a Government Key Account Manager for the US Air Force you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Determine directions, priorities and assigns resources with full accountability for results of functional area.
  • Responsible for managing sales targets for assigned customers / areas / product lines.
  • Identify and define market / product opportunities to meet sales and growth objectives.
  • Driving growth of 3M solutions at some of the Nation's largest military depots and repair facilities.
  • Owning, leveraging and cultivating senior level relationships at assigned accounts to identify business needs / drivers and position 3M solutions for growth.
  • Building and executing channel engagement plans that leverage existing government contracts and market trends (ie, use of small, disadvantaged businesses).
  • Leading 3M Team members at assigned accounts to foster and drive collaboration in the attainment of assigned forecast.
  • Creating, maintaining, and executing pipeline of opportunities and engagements to realize the key sales targets and metrics.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Three (3) years of account sales experience in a commercial, government, or military environment OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Five (5) years of military experience.
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • Three (3) years of key account sales experience in a government or military environment.
  • Strategic management of product distribution companies.
  • Working cross-functionally within a complex matrix organization.
  • Experience working as a government employee.
  • Skills include managing through CRM tools, selling skills, and C-Suite sales.
  • Work Location

    Remote in Sales Territory

    Applicable to US Applicants Only : The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 - $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and / or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
