We are seeking a Rheumatologist to work at a clinic in Oklahoma City that specializes in the treatment and research of auto-immune diseases.
This physician will have the opportunity to work as a Principal Investigator on clinical trials in addition to practicing clinical medicine!
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients presenting with rheumatic conditions, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, uveitis, scleroderma, myositis, and dermatomyositis.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, considering factors such as disease severity, comorbidities, and patient preferences.
- Prescribe appropriate medications
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures and tests, such as joint aspiration, synovial fluid analysis, imaging studies, and laboratory tests.
- Provide patient education and counseling on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
- Collaborate with other specialists, such as orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in clinical research activities, including clinical trials and observational studies, to advance understanding and treatment of rheumatic diseases.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments and advancements in rheumatology through continuing medical education (CME), conferences, and professional publications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient charts, progress notes, and treatment plans, in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review processes to ensure high standards of care and patient safety.
Qualifications :
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
- Valid state medical license or eligibility for valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Strong clinical skills and experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of rheumatic conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated interest in clinical research preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
