Accounting Manager Government Contract Support (Consultant Role)

Location : Lake County, IL (Hybrid options may be considered) Contract Type : Consultant / Temporary Assignment Industry : Government Contracting / Food & Logistics Services Pay Rate : $40 -$45 / hour

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in government contracts? Jefferson Wells is supporting our client in this critical role to ensure compliance with a large-scale federal contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage tri-monthly billing packets and A / R invoicing.
• Deliver monthly and annual financial reports.
• Develop annual budgets, cost proposals, and quarterly forecasts.
• Ensure accurate invoicing via the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) system.
• Supervise accounts payable functions.
• Validate and process bi-weekly staffing agency payroll invoices.
• Create and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for internal departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support contract compliance and financial operations.
