Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

POSITION SUMMARY :

You will perform a variety of duties designed to improve strength and mobility as directed by a Physical Therapist (PT). You will help patients become independent by using therapeutic procedures to administer manual exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients with non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Report significant changes in the patient's condition (physical or emotional), safety concerns, unusual occurrences, and adverse effects of medical devices to the physical therapist or nurse manager promptly
• Utilize physical agents, including but not limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage as directed in the plan of care
• Observe, record, and report to the Physical Therapist, Clinical Manager, and Health Care Provider, the patient's treatment and respond on a timely basis
• Direct and aid patient / CG in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
• Provide and document services in accordance with applicable State, Federal, Medicare, Medical regulations and standards and third-party payer guidelines
• Other duties as assigned
