Job Summary
The Director of Development will focus on the South and East Coast of the United States. They will collaborate with the Vice President of Global Fundraising and the Global Fundraising team to cultivate investor relationships and execute a fundraising program to secure the necessary funds for Biblica. The focus of the role is to establish, develop, and mature relationships with prospective and existing major donors to expand the ministry of Biblica through relationships in the region. This role manages a portfolio of relationships, seeking to understand investor interests and connecting them with meaningful giving opportunities through Biblica. The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in building, enhancing, and establishing networks that connect people to global Bible translation and mobilization efforts. The position reports to the Vice President of Global Fundraising.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee a caseload major donors and prospects within the respective regions of the U.S., executing a moves-management strategy focused on relationship development to procure funding for Biblicas ministry.
- Provide genuine care and stewardship to all ministry donors.
- Develop and grow the regions major donor portfolio, engaging new audiences and donor communities.
- Provide excellent and engaging communications to all donors.
- Develop a strategic engagement plan, using moves management, to manage the portfolio, defining funding goals for each investor and prospect to deliver on revenue and performance
- Identify donor areas of interest and successfully prepare and deliver funding proposals to prospective and current donors as the relationship dictates.
- Deepen relationships with individuals in the portfolio through regular visits, calls, emails, and various communication touchpoints and follow-up.
- Participate in departmental and individual annual goal setting.
- Host multiple Regional Donor Gatherings per year and assist with additional events as requested, such as the Presidents Gathering and vision trips.
- Timely input and tracking in Biblicas Salesforce CRM of engagement activities, proposals, contact reports, and donor strategies.
- Regularly participate in daily prayer and Staff Gatherings.
- Collaborate with the Advancement Leadership Team on assigned priorities and departmental initiatives.

Highly motivated, emotionally intelligent, self-starter with a relentless drive to achieve goals and overcome obstacles.Ability to proactively cultivate and sustain relationships in non-profit Christian contexts, drawing on past fundraising experience and a deep commitment to Biblicas work.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate a compelling case for supporting Biblica's ministry. Be comfortable and confident in making the "ask".Demonstrated success in reaching and exceeding fundraising goals.Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies, principles, and best practices. Knowledge of tax planning techniques that favor charitable giving is beneficial.Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to a changing environment with a calm demeanor and a ministry heart.Strong decision-making ability and good judgment, with the ability to work with minimal supervision within a remote team.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and operate with diplomacy.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with CRM software, with Salesforce experience preferred.Education and Experience
A minimum of five years of successful development and / or fundraising experience with a proven track record in closing major gifts.A bachelors degree is required, preferably in business, non-profit management, marketing, or a related field.Physical Requirements
Able to work remotely with minimal supervision.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time domestically with evening and weekend meetings as needed.Competencies
