Job Title : Registered Nurse - Endocrinology RN

Job Specialty : Endocrinology

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8-Hour Days

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 1 year of ambulatory clinic experience required, experience in endocrinology clinic preferred

License : RN South Dakota License

Certifications : BLS required for RN, LPN, and Medical Assistant. Certified Medical Assistant must have CMA certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA.

Must-Have : Experience with EPIC in an ambulatory clinic required

Job Description :

• Work with endocrinology patients, including those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as thyroid conditions.
• Perform triage, patient education, and Epic Ambulatory InBasket work.
• Download insulin pumps and glucometers after completing necessary training.
• Room patients and assist as backup.
• Medical Assistants will room patients and must be skilled in using ambulatory EPIC. They should also be proficient in injections, EKG, and point-of-care testing.
• The clinic has its own lab department, facilitating phlebotomy support.
• Occasionally required to float to other areas.
• Participate in a facility and unit orientation dependent on specialty. Medical Assistant orientation is 3 days.
• Wear designated scrub colors : Navy Blue for RNs and Light Grey for MAs / CAs.
• Approval for time off granted by Supervisor.
