Manager, Budget and Finance

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Manager of Budget and Finance is responsible for clinical practice labor accounting / budgeting and endowment management for multiple clinical departments. Reporting to the Senior Director of Budget and Finance, responsibilities include the following :

Responsibilities

• Supervisory responsibility. Supervises staff providing support for labor accounting for multiple clinical departments, salary / fringe budgeting and reporting for clinical practice, and endowment management.
• Clinical faculty compensation plan. Expertise in newly implemented complex compensation model for clinical faculty. Responsible for monthly and quarterly payments of all variable components under comp plan. Serves as expert resource for leadership in all matters of compensation.
• Responsible for additional compensation payments outside clinical compensation plan, including medical service agreements, on call coverage, and incentive payments,
• Process improvement and controls. Strategic assessment of departmental processes and procedures for labor accounting. Establish and implement controls for the new faculty comp plan. Continuous review for process improvement as errors in this area can be costly to individuals and the department. Ensure departmental compliance with controls, processes, and procedures.
• Budgeting. Primary responsibility for salary and fringe budgeting for all clinical personnel, for multiple clinical departments.
• Labor Accounting. Expertise in CU payroll system (PAC). Review faculty offer letters for contractual changes in compensation, housing, or other supplements, tracking over future periods / fiscal years. Supervise collaborations with HR and other clinical departments for faculty and staff hires, promotions, terminations and salary changes.
• Annual Roster. Primary responsibility for preparation of departmental rosters for review by CFO and department chairs and practice component of formal roster for annual submission to CUIMC HR.
• Reporting. Preparation of numerous and varied reports, routine and ad hoc, for Director of Budget & Finance, CFO, and other department leadership. These often have to be prepared on short notice with limited information. Fields questions from all levels of the organization.
• Endowment management. Supervisory responsibility for endowment management, including routine transactions, budgeting and variance reporting. Maintain thorough understanding of endowment rules and regulations. Coordinate with Controller's office to create new endowed funds and for endowment decaps.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Minimum related experience :

Four years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
