Server

Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for part time Servers. This position will interact with our residents / guests in Independent Living. The Server will be responsible for positive resident / guest interactions while serving residents / guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, Servers are expected to be attentive to our residents / guests' needs and making them welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.

Responsibilities :

• Performing a variety of services in the Dining Room including waiting on assigned tables, taking orders, setting and busing tables.
• Assuring that all shift duties are thoroughly completed before the close of each shift.
• Set up and clean up of special functions.
• Understanding - before each meal period - every menu item and special, well enough to answer diners' questions.
• Properly greeting all residents and guests.
• Adherence to all sanitation and food handling protocols.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures of Encore Village and regulatory authorities.
• Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents' rights and employee confidentiality are protected.
• Proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procdures.
• Attendance and participation in in-service training programs.
• Reporting of all hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Preparation of routine set-up of dining room for next day and / or special holidays.
• Maintain quality level of service.
• Good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing and speaking.
