Job Summary :
Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer with significant experience designing computer network systems and services and mitigating risks and ensure the integrity of the network infrastructure.
This role will support the FAA's NAS Defense Program Office.
This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.
S. controlled airspace every day. A critical part of that mission is to support technical network systems which connect air traffic information across the FAA's National Airspace System and with other government agencies.
This position will be located onsite at the FAA's Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Relocation assistance provided
Key Responsibilities :
A successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience and be proficient in :
- Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, with a focus on cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Design, implement, manage, and support enterprise-level IP networks, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171 standards.
- Apply routing and switch design principles to optimize network performance while addressing NIST requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address network infrastructure needs while considering cybersecurity implications.
Qualifications :
- B.S. in an engineering, information systems, or related discipline (Cisco Certified Network Professional, plus 5 additional years of experience could be substituted for a bachelor's degree)
- Active secret security clearance (preferred)
- Willing to relocate within 30 days of offer acceptance
- Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and interpreting NIST documentation
- Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Experience conducting research for technical systems
