This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in our Seattle, Portland, Anchorage, San Francisco, or Los Angeles offices.

This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of the listed offices.

This role is integral to our network design efforts and is crucial in implementing, maintaining, and securing our on-prem and cloud network infrastructure.

Collaborating with our Senior Network Engineer, responsibilities range from configuring network devices to collaborating with cross-functional teams to create secure and stable architectural designs aligned with our firm's standards.

Expertise in Cisco and Azure networking, strong communication, and problem-solving skills will be essential in providing end-to-end support and driving network performance improvements.

This role is a part of the IT Operations Team and reports to the Manager of Core IT Infrastructure Solutions.

On a typical day you will :

  • Network Design and Implementation :
  • Configure and install various network devices and services, including physical and virtual routers, switches, firewalls, wireless services, load balancers, VPNs, and Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design resilient and scalable network architectures.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Cisco and Azure networking components.
  • Network Maintenance and Upgrades :
  • Perform routine network maintenance tasks, such as applying service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly.
  • Security and Compliance :
  • Implement security measures to safeguard network infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Documentation and Reporting :
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
  • Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements.
  • End-User Support :
  • Assist end-users with network-related queries and issues.
  • Be available after hours and weekends work, and travel if necessary.

Join us if you have :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Network Engineer or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Cisco switch and router product lines (e.g., Cisco Catalyst 9300, 9400, 9500 switches).
  • Proficiency with Cisco NGFW product lines (e.g., Cisco Firepower Threat Defense)
  • Proficiency with Cisco SD-WAN services
  • Proficiency with Meraki security & wireless product lines.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud networking and Cisco integrations.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring & troubleshooting tools.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization, including interpersonal skills, are required
  • Problem-Solving Abilities :
  • Strong customer service, analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control required
  • Certifications (preferred but not mandatory) :
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate.

Washington State

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $116,000 to $128,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.

For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly.

Additional voluntary programs include : voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.

Commuter and Transit programs are also available.

California

The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $114,000 to $127,000; and in San Francisco is $135,000 to $149,000.

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.

Additional voluntary programs include : voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.

Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
