Geotechnical Driller's Assistant

RB&G Engineering, a Utah civil / geotechnical engineering firm, seeks motivated, responsible, mechanically inclined individuals who are interested in being trained as a geotechnical driller's assistant. A driller and the driller's assistant work outdoors year-round as a two-person crew alongside an engineer or geologist, drilling borings to sample soil and rock for engineering studies. Most projects are local to the Wasatch front, but some require travel to more remote parts of Utah and occasionally into neighboring states. Previous experience with geotechnical drilling, auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, and / or towing a trailer will be beneficial but is not required. Due to insurance requirements for driving support equipment, applicants must be at least 21 years old. Minimum qualifications include a valid Utah driver's license and clean driving record (no outstanding DUIs). Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and continue to work in a drug-free environment. Able to complete on-job training courses which require basic math and communication skills. Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the work day (sometimes up to 75 lbs.). Integrity, punctuality, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
