Project Manager – Excavation & Underground Utilities

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with a background in civil sitework construction to oversee projects involving earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, and grading . The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing field operations and coordinating all aspects of heavy civil sitework projects from start to finish. This position offers excellent long-term stability and the opportunity to grow with a well-established contractor.

Responsibilities :

Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of sitework and utility construction projects

Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operations to ensure productivity and quality

Monitor budgets, cost control, and project progress to maintain profitability

Coordinate closely with engineers, owners, and inspectors to ensure project compliance

Enforce safety policies and quality control procedures on all job sites

Manage project documentation, change orders, and client communication

Support preconstruction planning and assist in estimating when needed

Qualifications :

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing civil construction or sitework projects

Strong background in earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, and grading

Proven leadership and communication skills with field and office personnel

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Proficiency with project management and scheduling software preferred

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
