Overview

Maintenance Generalist - 3rd Shift, Portland, ME. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Sign-on bonus : New hires earn up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Payout is as follows : $1,000 upon completion of first week, $1,000 at 90 days, $1,500 at 6 months, and $1,500 at 1 year. Current Tyson team members and rehires are not eligible.

Hours : Monday – Friday, 10 : 00 PM – 6 : 30 AM. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Preventively maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and alters defective equipment.
• Provides maintenance on complex production equipment.
• Controls inventory and requisitions appropriate parts.
• Performs maintenance checks on buildings and equipment.
• Maintains electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Operates industrial equipment (e.g., skyjack, forklift).
• Complies with company safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Performs general equipment repair and installation of safety equipment as needed.
• Works with production staff to promote proper use and care of equipment.
• Maintains maintenance and repair logs.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follows all required work safety practices (lockout-tagout, PPE, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.).
• Reports food safety and quality issues to management immediately.
• Complies with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
• Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and push up to 100 pounds; able to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Works effectively in a team environment; communicates verbally and in writing; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
