Position Overview
The Volunteer Services Office Assistant plays an important role in supporting the mission of the hospital by assisting with administrative, recruitment, and hospitality-focused projects within the Volunteer Services Department. This volunteer helps create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, families, and fellow volunteers by assembling informational packets, assisting with volunteer onboarding, and ensuring smooth departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble Welcome Packets for patients admitted to the hospital, ensuring materials are current, organized, and neatly presented.
- Create Family Birth Center Welcome Packets for families with new babies, including educational and celebratory materials provided by the department.
- Maintain an organized supply of printed materials, brochures, and folders; notify staff when quantities are low or updates are needed.
- Assist with volunteer onboarding and compliance, including helping to prepare orientation materials, track required paperwork, and update volunteer records.
- Call and screen potential volunteers to provide information about available opportunities, confirm application details, and support the interview and placement process.
- Assist with light office and clerical tasks such as copying, labeling, filing, data entry, and assembling mailings.
- Support the Volunteer Services staff with special projects, events, and recognition activities.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling hospital materials, volunteer applications, and patient-related information.
