POSITION SUMMARY:
Chaplain (PRN) - acts to make available a broad base of "non specified" religious resources which complement the treatment programs. Function as an educator and advocate for the patient, family, and staff to aid in understanding the nature of the religious needs and the problems of a fully integrated life.
Qualifications SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Basic understanding of medical terminology. Able to work independently and productively with little supervision. Good organizational skills. Able to assess and counsel persons with regard to spiritual and religious concerns. Able to maintain professional records and patient confidentiality. Able to maintain professional relationships with staff, visitors, and patients.
EDUCATION: Master's of Divinity (+ credit hours). Basic Unit, Clinical Pastoral Education 4 units of more or board certified (BCC)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id.
EXPERIENCE: None required. Prior experience working in a rehabilitation and/or psychiatric treatment setting preferred.
PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Vision, hearing, verbal communication ability (by phone and face-to-face), emotional stability, and dexterity sufficient to perform essential job functions and handle stress and changing priorities. Requires repeated use of hands and fine motor skills to use write and to manipulate papers. Ability to see and write legibly and grammatically correct. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Regular and predictable attendance.
