Catholic Charities founded in 1903 remains among the largest and well-respected social service agency with programs and offices located in Boston and the greater Boston area. As one of the largest providers of social service in Massachusetts, Catholic Charities of Boston offers over 70 programs and services in 23 locations around Eastern Massachusetts.

We are currently seeking a full-time Group Leader for the Child Care program located in Peabody.

The Group Leader will work with Site Coordinator and other School Age Child Care / OST Staff to ensure the daily operation of their assigned group. The School Age Program will have a team of staff members at the site that will provide care to 30-100+ children from their local community. Group Leaders will be responsible for supervision and care of children in grades K- 8. They will be responsible for planning daily activities, snack, and homework help. Group Leaders must be professional and committed to represent Catholic Charities in a manner that aligns with the mission and goals of our organization.

Qualifications include

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, or Associate Degree
• Must have at least one year demonstrated experience working with school age children.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Knowledge of Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Regulations, subsidy care, and Best Practices and quality standards in OST preferred
• Excellent communication skills (school administration, parents, staff & children).
• Experience working with diverse / children / youth and families between the ages of 5-13 years of age.
• Pass background record check (CORI / SORI / DCF), fingerprinting and three reference checks.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include : completion of : Child Abuse Prevention, CPR; First Aid, Medication Administration.
