WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
This role is part of the Air MI Design Engineering team, reporting to the Design Engineering Manager. You will work multi-functionally with Project Managers, Process, Quality, Automation and Controls, and Industrial Engineers. Key partners and stakeholders include Tooling, Operations, Maintenance, Materials, Planning, and Safety teams. People appreciate your hands on approach to learning and ability to balance multiple projects.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Design Engineer who will join a team of engineers responsible for commercializing and manufacturing Air products. This role works cross-functionally on a wide variety of projects from developing new products, processes, and materials to improving manufacturing efficiencies on our existing product portfolio. The candidate should be adaptable, curious, solutions oriented, inclusive and respectful. The candidate will utilize their skills in 3D design and engineering, leverage their past experience and that of teammates as a basis for solving problems along with identifying creative solution paths. The candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, flexible to changing priorities, and a self-starter.

If this is you, this role will support or lead the development of new Air products and the daily manufacturing operations required to produce them. You will be required to solve problems using the support of your teammates to implement designs and solutions.

This role will assist the AirMIs team with a special project in shoe component manufacturing. They will design mechanical tools for high volume manufacturing. The top project priorities are transferring SQUs for airsoles and transferring the manufacturing process from legacy equipment to new equipment.
Must Haves :
5+ YOE as a Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineer - this is not a creative designer, it is a technical role.
Experience in designing manufacturing tools, mechanical design, know how to cut mechanical parts out and make molds from them
CAD programs - Siemens software NX, NX CAD
Nice to Haves : Solidworks
Experience working under tight timelines, has worked at fortune 500 companies
Can lift 40lbs - examining tools they are designing, they will have lift carts and elevators, there are others to help as well
