LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and organized individual to join the team as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant in Gainesville, FL .

This position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative assistance to the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

  • Answer multi-line phone and take messages.
  • File paperwork appropriately.
  • Ensure that all office supplies are in stock.
  • Maintain the department's office equipment (i.e. make sure printer has toner, fax machine and printer have proper maintenance, etc.).
  • Work closely with the Director of Human Resources, District Administrative Services Coordinators, and the Safety and Risk Coordinator.
  • Address employment verification requests in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain and update employee driving information and status; and report.
  • Ensure that all regions have a suitable amount of orientation day supplies and materials; restock if necessary.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute employee ID badges, as needed.
  • Prepare and organize reports as needed for quarterly meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Establish effective working relationships with coworkers and the public
  • Organize and manage time effectively
  • Maintain records in an organized fashion
  • Follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Work with confidential records and maintain confidentiality of these materials

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

One year of working experience in an office environment

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

To provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community we serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion related activities.

This is a full-time position. Starting salary range is $14.00 - $15.40 per hour. Criminal background check and drug screen required upon conditional offer of hire.
