Job Description :
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Analyst with strong expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, SQL, ETL, and data modeling. This is a senior role that requires someone confident, energetic, and capable of mentoring junior analysts while leading complex data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in analyzing regulatory and compliance reporting requirements, designing data specifications, performing data testing, understanding new data sources, and supporting enterprise data operations. This role will evolve into a leadership position overseeing projects, deliverables, and team members.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze, review, and clarify business and regulatory requirements for compliance and discretionary projects.
- Lead data analysis, data mapping, transformation logic, and technical specification creation.
- Support developers with SQL queries, testing, and validation of data changes.
- Perform detailed test planning, test case creation, and execution across unit, integration, user, and performance testing.
- Investigate and understand new data sources, link and model tables, flatten structures, and perform end-to-end data validation.
- Manage assigned submissions and reports, ensuring accuracy, balancing, and timely delivery.
- Provide oversight of projects and junior team members as the role scales into leadership.
- Collaborate with business partners, IT teams, and external stakeholders to support audits, compliance, and market conduct needs.
- Support implementation tracking, production validation, and issue resolution.
- Contribute to SDLC processes, project planning, estimation, and cross-functional coordination.
Required Skills & Experience :
13+ years of experience as a Business / Data Analyst.Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance experience is required.Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries.Strong ETL and data transformation understanding.Hands-on data modeling experience, including table structures, mapping, linking, and validating new data sources.Experience querying relational databases and working with structured analysis techniques.Experience with SDLC methodologies, project planning, estimating, and documentation.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to lead, mentor, and guide junior team members.Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work with minimal supervision.Strong collaboration skills and ability to build strong internal and external relationships.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.Highly Valued / Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of statutory and compliance-related reporting in the P&C industry.Experience supporting audits and market conduct exams.Experience with DB2, SQL Server, and exposure to cloud technologies.Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Prior supervisory or lead experience.Creative thinker with the ability to challenge and improve existing processes.
