EHS Specialist

OVERVIEW
Candidate will evaluate EHS facilities and processes with respect to potential hazards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with client to ensure compliance with facility environmental, health, and safety policies and other applicable regulatory agencies
- Conduct industrial hygiene sampling, such as noise dosimetry and air monitoring
- Schedule and conduct respirator fit testing for employees
- Assist with process hazard analysis and risk analysis assessments
- Conduct environmental, health, and safety training
- Coordinate sitewide safety initiatives
- Work with business to audit daily work permits and report findings to supervisors
- Complete ergonomic assessments of process tasks
- Other Health and Safety tasks as needed by client
This role may include environmental responsibilities, such as :
- Collect and process wastewater samples and interpret results for reporting
- Coordinate various environmental sampling events and order and prep sampling supplies
- Utilize air emission modeling software to track pollutant outputs
- Assist with regulatory agency permitting processes for environmental compliance
- Create and manage waste stream profiles for the processing of hazardous waste
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline
- 1-2 years professional Environmental Health and Safety experience preferred
- Safety experience in a manufacturing or pilot plant setting preferred
- Possess high-level problem-solving skills and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be a team player, have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be self-motivated and results-oriented, and be highly productive
