Fixed Equipment Engineer

Lafayette, IN (full relocation)

$120-140K + strong bonus potential

Are you an engineer who thrives on problem-solving, innovation, and making an impact?

We're looking for a  Fixed Equipment Engineer  to join our client's team at their plant in Indiana.  You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of this advanced chemical manufacturing facility.

What You'll Do :

  • Own & Drive Capital Projects - Manage projects ranging from small-scale improvements (

$1M) focused on safety, reliability, and compliance.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance - Serve as a key resource for interpreting and implementing OSHA, ASME, NFPA, PSM, and EPA RMP regulations.
  • Lead Process Safety Efforts - Oversee Management of Change (MOC) processes, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), ensuring safety is embedded in every change.
  • Strengthen Our Safety Culture - Conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and deliver training programs to reinforce best practices across the facility.
  • Provide Technical Expertise - Offer guidance on pressure vessel repair, tank maintenance, machine guarding, and RAGAGEP interpretations.
  • Mentor & Develop Others - Coach and support team members, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to uphold safety and engineering excellence.
  • Recruiting :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) is required.
  • Industry Knowledge : Experience in Chemical Process Safety or Combustible Dust environments is a plus.
  • Project Management Skills : Ability to lead multiple initiatives and drive projects from start to finish.
  • Technical Acumen : Understanding of chemical unit operations, Process Safety Management (PSM), and key safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API).
  • Communication & Detail Orientation : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Experience with Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and regulatory compliance is a plus.
