Our client is seeking a skilled and driven Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative steel fabrication solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about turning ideas into high-performance products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product development initiatives from concept through production, focusing on steel-based components and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure product feasibility and performance
  • Develop and refine CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for fabricated steel products
  • Conduct material and process evaluations to optimize cost, durability, and manufacturability
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
  • Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Stay current with industry trends, fabrication technologies, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in product development within steel fabrication or metalworking industries
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with FEA tools
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, cutting, forming, and machining
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
