Job Summary :
This position is responsible for the scheduling and shipping of outbound freight shipments ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions :
- Plans and tracks the maintenance, preparation and routing of work orders per customers’ routing guides.
- Prepares accurate bills of lading and pallet labels.
- Responds to customer inquiries and refers customers to the appropriate channels.
- Tracks and analyzes mis-shipments to ensure they don’t occur again.
- Ensures all shipments are processed and shipped on the customer’s requested date.
- Processes orders and oversees cycle of order fulfillment ensuring all line items are picked per the work order.
- Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates per freight carriers, and keeps costs down where possible.
- Ensures all customs documentation is included with international shipments.
- Provides freight carriers details of weights and dimensions for shipments.

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities :
Knowledge of principles and methods of moving goods by air, sea, or road, including but not limited to palletizing, UPS WorldShip®, and FedEx Ship Manager® and DHL.Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and Shipping software.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.Ability to manage one’s own time.Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.Knowledge of product, material, and inventory principles.Communication Skills- Active Listening and Verbal Communication.Excellent attention to detail.Physical Requirements :
Largely a sedentary role, however, routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and printers.Sitting for sustained periods of time.Work Environment :
Professional office environment.Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles due to necessary communication with shipping and receiving.Occasionally exposed to noise level that is moderate to high.Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience :
At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
