Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Hospice

Job Specialty : Home Health Hospice

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8 Hour Days, 0800-1630

Guaranteed Hours : 40

Experience : Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience. Open to first-time travelers with home health and hospice experience.

License : Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Certifications : BLS; Valid Driver's License

Must-Have : Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing

Job Description :

• Work every third weekend with holidays worked unless requested off.
• Serve in one of three primary field locations which will be discussed during the interview.
• Manage a case load of approximately 20-25 home health and hospice patients.
• Use skills in Oasis, hospice philosophy, infection control practices, and more.
• Perform wound vacs, wound care, PICC line dressing changes, port access, IV infusions, and catheter insertions.
• Able to drive at night for patient visits.
• Charting is done using the Epic Remote system.
• Orientation in the field with office located in the hospice house.
• Participate in a weekend rotation every third weekend.
• Be available for on-call shifts, approximately one 12-hour call shift per week.
• Work holidays as discussed during the interview.
• Scrub color or business casual dress code as per preference.
• CNA support is provided to the patient in-home, and nurses are responsible for drawing labs in the home.

Please note that permanent staff must wait one full year to return as a traveler after their assignment ends. The orientation is field-based, and the facility and unit details will be provided during the interview process.
