Job OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing therapeutic support to individuals, families, and groups, with a focus on promoting mental wellness and recovery. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in various settings such as outpatient clinics, and / or with various types of developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. The therapist will utilize evidence-based practices to deliver effective treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
Provisionally licensed practitioners (PCSW, PPC) may also apply.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine clients' mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services using techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on issues such as grief, trauma, addiction, and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and effective case management.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Engage in crisis management strategies to support clients during acute episodes.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving treatment methodologies within the field of mental health.
- Skills
- Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, or applied behavior analysis.
- Strong emphasis in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders (preferred).
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and client assessment techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with geriatric populations and address gender issues in counseling.
- Competency with utilizing the DSM-V for diagnostic criteria, therapeutic records management, and data collection processes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Telehealth experience is a plus for providing remote counseling services.
