Job Summary

The Sous Chef supports the overall success of the culinary program by managing daily kitchen operations, assisting with menu planning, inventory, ordering, and food preparation. This role ensures adherence to health and safety regulations, client standards, and company policies. The Sous Chef also leads, trains, and develops the back-of-house team to deliver high-quality, fresh, and well-presented food that meets customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist in planning, preparing, and cooking diverse menu items.

Support menu development and implementation of new culinary programs.

Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control measures.

Uphold food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Lead, train, and motivate culinary staff to ensure operational excellence.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

5 years of culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.

Experience in restaurants, hotels, education, healthcare, or similar environments.

Strong knowledge of food trends, production standards, and cost control.

Proven leadership, communication, and coaching skills.

ServSafe or Health Department certification preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
