Pr ogram Lead Assessor (ISA) - High-Speed Rail, USA

EWI are supporting a leading consultancy firm, who are currently seeking Program Lead Assessor for an upcoming High-Speed Rail project in California, USA

Responsibilities :

  • Be accountable for the technical content of all Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) deliverables.
  • Create and maintain the ISA Management Plan.
  • Interface directly with the Authority and Interfacing Contractors.
  • Conduct assessment activities within the context of the ISA Management Plan.
  • Attend regular progress meetings with the Authority (no less frequently than monthly).
  • Chair Interfacing Contractor / ISA progress meetings.
  • Review and approve safety notices.
  • Review and issue ISA certificates.
  • Review and issue ISA reports.

Requirements :

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or Rail Transportation Engineering OR BSc with additional certifications in Safety Management or Systems Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a position of responsibility related to safety assessment of systems engineering and safety assessment of rail system delivery projects, with experience in high-speed railroads operating speeds greater than or equal to 185 mph (300 Km / h).
  • Competence in accordance with IET Independent Safety Assessor Competency Framework or equivalent.
  • Experience in the application of EN 61508, EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 for railroad safety applications.
  • Experience in defining and assuring Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and their application to railroad safety applications, with reference to Safety Integrity Level 2 systems or higher.
  • Must be willing to relocate to California, USA
