Must-Have :

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.

Experience in Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics (Davinci XI, SP, DV5).

Surgical experience in a tertiary care center.

Description :

Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU.

Serves as a teaching hospital with a total of 417 beds.

Department operates 10 operating rooms Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1500.

Features 20 Pre-Op bays and 14 PACU bays.

Patient types include Surgical (Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, ENT, Gynecology, and Trauma).

Patient ratios are OR 1 : 1, Pre-Op 1 : 2, PACU Phase I - 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 based on acuity, and PACU Phase II - 1 : 2-3.

Support on the unit includes Surgery RNs, First Assist, Surgical Technicians, Nurse Clinicians, Service Line Leads, and Nurse Aides.

Charting system used is EPIC; prior experience with EPIC is required for approval.

Floating may occur as needed, including areas such as Endoscopy, Pre-Op, PACU, and the Floor.

Weekend rotation is expected, with on-call duties ideally one overnight per week and every third weekend.

Holiday expectations include two out of four major holidays.

Approval of time off should be discussed with management.
