Mechanical Engineer - MEP Design - Mission Critical

Base pay range : $100,000.00 / yr - $150,000.00 / yr

Job Title : Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

Location : New York City - Midtown Manhattan - 4 days in the office.

About the Role : Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience in engineering design, coordination, or project support, preferably within large-scale or mission-critical environments such as data centers . Prior experience specifically on data center projects is not required , but a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support engineering design and coordination for large-scale building and infrastructure projects, with a focus on mission-critical facilities.
  • Assist senior engineers and project managers in developing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary coordination, including electrical, mechanical, architectural, and structural systems.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and field coordination as needed to support project delivery.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design or field challenges efficiently.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in engineering design, BIM coordination, and sustainable systems.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience (data center experience a plus, but not required).
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and / or other BIM coordination tools.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
