About The Position
Job Title : Sleep Technician
Profession : Sleep Technician

Experience : Minimum 1 year required
License : BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
Certifications : One or more of the following : Registered Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Must-Have : High school diploma / GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree
Description :
Performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
Prepares patients and equipment for ordered testing.
Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explains testing procedures.
Performs and documents testing.
Monitors patients throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies.
Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing.
Determines and reports needed repairs or replacements.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
