POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Sommelier to act as our wine expert and create wine lists that pair with our food menus. Sommelier responsibilities include recommending wine varieties to our guests, supervising wine serving and collaborating with winemakers to renew our selections and achieve better prices. To be qualified for this role, you should have relevant experience in hospitality or a vineyard and be available to work during business hours

Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage ManagerRecommend food and wine pairingsAdvise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choicesInform guests about different varieties of wines and pricesEnsure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glasswareStore open bottles properly to maintain strong tasteManage wine cellar and ensure it’s fully-stockedTrain wait staff on available winesNegotiate purchase prices with vendorsOrganize wine tasting days or “wine of the month” eventsAsk guests for ID to verify legal drinking ageComply with all health and safety regulationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : High School; able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English
Experience : Prior experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward / Stewardess or similar role
Computer Skills : Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system
Certificates & Licenses : Sommelier Certification preferred
Other Requirements : Must meet the local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages; coordination skills that allow proper pouring and carrying of several drinks and plates at the same time
Extensive knowledge of different wines and the winemaking process
