Job Summary
We are searching for an experienced cat groomer / kennel attendant to join the team at our successful grooming business. As a cat groomer, you will bathe and clip cat according to the owner preferences.
You will also trim nails, clean ears, detangle hair and generally ensure that pets look and feel their best. If you are reliable, compassionate, and have a love for pets, we want to hear from you! We are a cats only boarding facility.
We board between 30-60 cats during peak season. If you have pervious management experience is a plus. Weekend availability a must.
Our boarding facility is located in Van Nuys.
Responsibilities
- Brush and detangle or remove matted fur
- Bathe dogs and dry coat
- Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests
- Examine for parasites or other skin conditions
- Trim nails
- Ensure the safety of cats at all times
- Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners
- Kennel attendant for boarding cats
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cat grooming technician or similar role
- Comfortable working with anxious animals
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift over 50 pounds
- Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education
- Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners
- Strong attention to detail
