Position Title : Part-Time Facility Maintenance Technician
Location : Kalamazoo, Michigan (On-site)
Employment Type : Part-Time (30 hours)
Union Affiliation : This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with Local 324. Union enrollment is mandatory to enjoy the benefits associated with the role.
Position Summary :
As a part-time Journeyman, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our Kalamazoo facility. This includes performing quality control checks, addressing urgent maintenance issues, and executing preventive maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor the progress of facility-related activities to ensure standards are met.
- Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from the Quality Control Plan.
- Maintain compliance with the Quality Control Plan and report performance metrics and improvement needs to senior management.
- Perform corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on plumbing, architectural, and minor electrical systems, as listed in the facility’s preventive maintenance plan.
- Ensure materials and tools are available onsite ahead of scheduled maintenance.
- Respond promptly to urgent GSA or tenant issues, coordinating resolution with the supervisor.
- Complete all required documentation, including work orders, inspection forms, and preventive maintenance checklists.
- Perform additional tasks outside of primary responsibilities if deemed necessary by the corporation.
- Adhere to MASE's Quality Control Program standards at all times.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Valid Journeyman License in the State of Michigan (Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing — mandatory)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamPrior experience in facility maintenance (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) is preferredPhysical Requirements :
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs (e.g., tools, equipment, materials)Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periodsCapability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, or damp)Adequate hand-eye coordination for using tools, instruments, and performing fine motor tasksAbility to walk throughout the facility for inspections and maintenance activitiesSufficient visual and auditory ability to safely perform tasks and identify hazards.Compensation & Benefits :
