Self-Pay Collections Representative

Initiates collection activity on outstanding self-pay balances. Relevant categories include high dollar self-pay balances for both Hospital and Physician, payment plans, bankruptcy, Victim of Violent crime, estates, insurance information, financial counseling, settlements, and prompt pay discounts.

Major Responsibilities :

• Initiates telephone calls to patients / guarantors regarding resolution of their self-pay balances.
• Initiates telephone calls to insurance companies regarding resolution of self-pay balances.
• Communicates with hospital clinics / doctor offices regarding resolution of self-pay balances.
• Works assigned work queues within established protocols.
• Responds to patient / responsible party inquiries / requests received via telephone, mail and in person by accessing the billing system.
