Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care\n\nLocation : New York, NY\n\nShift : 8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 PM (Five 8-hour shifts per week)\n\nOpen Positions : 1\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Registered Nurse (Wound Care) is responsible for providing comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence care to patients. The RN will conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, provide treatment and education, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n

• Conduct focused health assessments for patients requiring wound, ostomy, and continence care.\n
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.\n
• Recommend medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.\n
• Assess, document, and evaluate patient responses to wound care interventions.\n
• Ensure quality and consistency of clinical care delivery.\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and refer patients to other healthcare professionals when necessary.\n
• Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention and management.\n
• Develop and lead educational programs, including new staff orientation and continuing education.\n
• Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives, including incidence and prevalence studies.\n
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient rights, and confidentiality standards.\n
• Manage equipment and supplies, including specialty beds and negative pressure devices.\n
• Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.\n
• Identify and connect patients with appropriate community resources.\n
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Wound Care to implement best practices and process improvements.\n\nEducation\n\nRequired Qualifications\n
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited program.\n\nExperience\n
• Minimum of two (2) years of Medical / Surgical nursing experience.\n
• Demonstrated experience in wound and colostomy care.\n\nLicensure & Certifications\n
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.\n
• Primary Source Verification of licensure from the NYS Department of Education (NYSED).\n
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.\n
• One of the following wound care certifications : \n
• Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) WOCNCB\n
• Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) WOCNCB\n
• Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) WOCNCB\n
• Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) American Board of Wound Management\n
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO)\n\nAdditional Notes\n
