Senior Manager Creative Services

Summary of the Position :

The Sr. Creative Services Manager leads the Creative Services team in providing value added services to JBSS customers to positively differentiate the company’s offerings from competition.

The Creative Services Senior Manager ensures creative expertise for art file development to ensure correct printing of packaging and support materials for all internal and external customers.

Functions Performed :

• Leads, develops, and motivates the Creative Services team to be sources of value addition to JBSS customers and positive differentiators for the company versus our competitors.
• Leads creative development process, staff members, and external resources to ensure deadlines are met for JBSS owned brands and for private label customers.

Prioritizes work across CS team to manage competing deadlines and projects.

Provides leadership and completes certain tasks on key aspects of the commercialization process, from file preparation to final printing, including new product development, packaging, merchandising, transition packaging, Sales / Marketing support materials, and corporate communication needs.

Provides leadership on projects spanning cross functional teams, especially CS and Tech Services. Provides leadership to develop and maintain productive relationships with outside agencies and vendors, especially prepress and print vendors.

• Leads the continued optimization of the creative development, pre-press, and printing process to identify ways to save time and money while maintaining quality.
• Meets with other functions, as necessary, to ensure timely issue identification and resolution. Works with other functions to remove obstacles or increase process efficiencies in the creative process.
• Responsible for capital expenditure and expense budgets for planning implementation and payment. Responsible for managing all vendor relationships and contracts.

Negotiates contracts as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility- Direct Management of :

• Package & Graphic Design Manager
• Sr. Production Artist
• Creative Services Coordinator

Education, Experience and Knowledge :

• Degree in a graphics related field.
• 5+ years design and print production experience including managing timelines with a CPG company (food and packaging related).
• Knowledge of graphic arts industry (mechanical & pre-press production and printing applications; digital, offset and flexographic).
• Working knowledge of Macintosh operating systems, Adobe Creative Suite (iCloud) Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous management experience.
