Software Development Sr. Director, OCI
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) delivers mission-critical applications for top-tier enterprises worldwide. Our cloud offers unmatched hyper-scale, multi-tenant services deployed in over 50 regions globally. OCI is expanding beyond traditional public cloud boundaries to include dedicated, hybrid, multi-cloud, edge computing, and more.
In the Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, the mission is to support customer choice, transparency, and value for cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on ambitious initiatives such as building high-performance primitives, frameworks for OCI developers, and a container runtime that supports all OCI services, including mission-critical tier-one offerings. Additional initiatives include canonical core component implementations for data planes, persistent remote storage with NVMe-like performance, and tools for identifying critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes. This work aims to enhance engineering efficiency by concentrating expertise on low-level, high-performance systems adopted across core cloud services.
We are looking for a leader who has built high-scale cloud infrastructure services, balancing business impact with deep technical excellence. You will grow and guide globally distributed teams, own the design, delivery, and operation of mission-critical systems, and demonstrate judgment balancing new feature delivery with incremental improvements. This role blends technical depth with organizational leadership—mentoring managers and principal engineers, while also rolling up your sleeves to dive into architecture and execution when needed. If you are energized by shaping a greenfield 0?1 initiative and defining the future of cloud infrastructure, this role offers the scope and impact to do so.
