The Nursing program clinical instructors are responsible for the education and supervision of students in community / practice settings, and program development and evaluation.

Instructors are classified as full-time or part-time depending on the number of hours worked.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical instruction including lectures, lab, simulation sessions, testing, attendance, and communication with students, clinical safety, security, and discipline.
  • Provide clinical instruction, laboratory sessions, clinical site discipline, safety and security following policies and procedures of each clinical site.
  • Assess each patient assigned to the student.
  • Clinical faculty function under the supervision of the nursing faculty member who has overall course responsibility.
  • Prepare student progress reports, enter grades, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

Education / Credentials

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited educational institution required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in the State in which the program is licensed

Experience

  • Minimum of two years full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse
  • Prior teaching or presentation experience preferred
