PAYMENT ANALYST II
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary :
Responsible for all patient account functions to include payment posting, cashiering, and document imaging.
Performs all duties of Payment Analyst I position. Assists with staff development, payer issue resolution, and acts as department liaison (as needed).
Education :
High School Diploma required. 2 years of college preferred.
Registration / Certification / Licensure :
Experience :
2 - 8 years of experience in a healthcare business office setting.
Other Requirements :
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and / or any other department requirements.
Proficient use of computer skills and applications, to include all Microsoft Office products.
Extensive knowledge of insurance plans, coverage types and medical terminology. Advanced understanding of remittance advice / explanation of benefits.
Demonstrated understanding of revenue cycle concepts and process flows.
Maintain knowledge of all payer remittance codes.
Ability to communicate issues effectively with all levels of staff and departments.
Work regularly with information restricted to specific persons; discretion and integrity are recognized requirements of the position.
