This is for a Registered Nurse position on the Stroke Response Unit located in the Emergency Department at Medstar Franklin Square.

Unit Highlights

Welcome to Medstar Franklin Square, a Magnet designated hospital. Medstar Franklin Square Emergency Department is a 62 bed department, with 18 flex beds, and a 9 bed Stroke Response Unit.

Medstar Franklin Square is also a STEMI receiving and A Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Emergency Department see's approximately 70,000 patients a year and serves a diverse patient population.

This position is for the Stroke Response Unit located within the Emergency Department. The RN will be responsible for providing high quality care to incoming stroke patients as well as other acutely ill patients arriving to the Emergency Department.

Must have strong Emergency Department and Critical Care skills to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex.

You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
