As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their goals for staying safely at home.
Section 1 : Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in the evaluation of patients' functional status and home environment to identify areas for improvement
- Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities to enhance their independence
- Maintain accurate clinical records and report any changes in patients' condition
- Follow treatment plans and document patients' progress towards established goals
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care
- Identify patients' needs for additional home care services and assist with necessary referrals
- Instruct patients' families and caregivers in treatment regimes
- Receive ongoing supervision and maintain open communication with the registered Occupational Therapist
Section 2 : Job Requirements
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the location
- Graduated from an OT assistant program accredited by the ACOTE of the AOTA or equivalent
- One year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license and insured automobile
