Job description

We're Hiring : Traffic Enforcement Field Technician!

We are seeking a  Field Service Technicians (FSTs). Technicians will install, operate, and maintain speed and red-light camera systems throughout the county. This role involves daily fieldwork and driving, with technicians dispatched from our Gaithersburg-based office.

Location :   Based in Gaithersburg, MD; supports field operations throughout Montgomery County, MD

Role : Traffic Enforcement Field Technician

Employment Type : Full-time

Work Schedule :

  • Morning Shift : 4 : 30 AM start
  • Afternoon Shift : 12 : 00 PM start

What You'll Do :

  • Install and maintain automated traffic enforcement cameras and equipment.
  • Set up, monitor, and shut down camera systems daily in accordance with company protocols.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues using electrical and networking tools.
  • Document and log all field activities accurately.
  • Drive a company-owned vehicle to various sites throughout Montgomery County.
  • Work safely in outdoor environments and comply with all traffic and worksite safety procedures.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a  background check and drug screening .
  • 1–2 years of field service, electronics, or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Willingness to work early morning or afternoon shifts as assigned.
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in varying weather conditions.

    • Tools & Equipment Used :

  • Electrical Testing Tools :   Multimeters
  • Networking Tools :   Cable testers
  • Digital Equipment :   Laptops to manage camera systems
  • Hand Tools :   Wire crimpers, strippers, and basic repair tools
  • Ladders / Bucket Vans :   May be used occasionally depending on the task

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Regular lifting of batteries and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Climbing ladders or working at elevated heights as needed.
  • Frequent driving and outdoor activity during the workday.

    • Safety Guidelines :

  • All technicians receive safety gear including vests, cones, hard hats, and harnesses.
  • Safety protocols and roadwork procedures are strictly followed and reinforced during onboarding and ongoing operations.
