We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Shipping Manager. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our shipping operations at our manufacturing plant.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of logistics and supply management.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement shipping policies and procedures to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to customers.
• Coordinate with production, inventory, and sales teams to forecast shipping needs and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Manage shipping schedules and prioritize orders based on customer requirements and shipping deadlines.
• Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Optimize shipping routes and transportation methods to minimize costs while maintaining delivery timelines.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards for transporting goods domestically and internationally.
• Oversee the packaging process to ensure products are adequately protected during transit and comply with shipping regulations.
• Monitor and analyze shipping performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and transportation costs, and implement improvements as needed.
• Train and supervise shipping staff, including drivers, warehouse workers, and administrative personnel, to ensure they adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to shipping errors or delays, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements in shipping and logistics to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Five plus years of proven experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP and WMS platforms, for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for shipping hazardous materials, international shipments, and customs clearance procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of shipping operations.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive process improvements and cost reductions.

Work Environment :

The role will be on-site at our manufacturing plant in Greensboro, NC. Hours will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm ET with some work required outside of typical hours on an as-needed basis as our plants run 24 / 7.
