We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This role involves managing payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and overseeing essential HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a background in dealership settings and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Responsibilities :
- Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 70 employees accurately and on time.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports for various departments to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Maintain and update group time and labor software to track employee hours effectively.
- Monitor and document compliance with mandatory training programs, certifications, and workplace assessments.
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications as part of the onboarding process.
- Facilitate new employee orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new team members.
- Administer HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leaves, and workers’ compensation.
- Address employment-related inquiries from employees, managers, and applicants while providing guidance on HR policies.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by reviewing and updating policies regularly.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a dealership or similar environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and HR administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
