The Senior Estimator leads estimating activities and new business development in assigned markets.
Essential Functions
Generates and develops cost estimates
Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare quotes / estimates
Reviews data for accuracy and determines material and labor requirements
Ensures all estimates meet or exceed company and customer's expectations, as well as regulatory requirements
Capability to bid medium to large scale DOT airport and municipal projects
Provides departmental leadership and assist Director of Estimating
Assumes lead estimator role on large or complex projects
Develops beneficial business relationships
Develops good working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, clients and INDOT personnel
Sets up jobs in job costing
generates purchase orders and sub contractor agreements
Reviews billings, prepares change orders and job cost reports
Communicates with internal / external customers
Provides highest levels of customer service
Makes presentations to large and small groups
Translates technical information into easily understood language
Promotes and maintains safe work environment
Exhibits safe work behaviors
Wears all prescribed PPE

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Experience Qualifications
7+ years previous experience in asphalt paving / bridge construction industry (or similar industry) is preferred

Regular travel to job sites, customer sites and corporate offices around the state is required; mostly day trips, but some overnight travel.
